What Will I do in the future? Who will I be in the future?

To start, I already know what I want to be and who I want to be. Attending Gustavson School of Business got me hooked on becoming an entrepreneur in the future. Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Jeff Bezos are all these entrepreneurs who have succeeded in creating multi-million dollar companies. In addition, these entrepreneurs have positively impacted today’s society with their advices and inspiration actions.

I want to use my entrepreneurial skills, such as leadership, creativity, marketing and problem-solving to create a brand or a company that has a story and not only focuses on profits but also inspires the audience.

Just like these prominent entrepreneurs, I want to seize the opportunity to inspire other people, whether physically or mentally. I am all for self-development because without it, I would not be able to achieve goals that I have set and tasks that have to be done throughout the day.

For now, as I am focusing on my education, I want to utilize this opportunity to gain more business knowledge and skill that benefit my future, whether its toward personal growth or business growth.

I am driven by a passion for this line of work and continue to seek new opportunities without regretting every decision.

Experience

While working at Original Joe’s, I discovered working in the restaurant industry was more challenging than I thought. I was a kitchen employee, so communication and teamwork were the essential skills to have. During this time, I adapted a consistent and improved food preparation efficiency and quality as a prep cook. In addition, I utilized my problem-solving skills. I developed a time-saving technique for preparing vegetables, condiments, and meant, which resulted in less preparation time and allowed me to knock down other tasks

Working at the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy was a great turning curve for me as I had zero experience working with medications and overall, the industry. Problem-solving skills and being a quick learner is essential to succeed in the pharmaceutical industry. I used my precision skills to manage medications for patients through blister pack optimization, ensuring the accurate amount and the type of medication. Furthermore, I set appointments for vaccines while coordinating patient consultations for medication adjustments.

As everyone knows, working at a fast-food restaurant is very fast-paced and in need of coordination. This workplace is where I enhanced my soft skills as I actively engaged with customers to understand preferences and consistently establish a warm and welcoming environment. I also improved customer satisfaction by listening and treating them right, as I always tell myself that “customers are always right,” resulting in reduced customer complaints throughout interactions.

Businesses

I am launching a clothing brand called Last Collection. I have been working on this brand for 5 months and counting, and it has been a crazy journey. From designing clothes, to market research, to getting disappointed with manufacturers. Last Collection is a streetwear focused but with a twist of gym lifestyle. I offer my customers transparency, trust, high quality clothes, and a fast shipping time. My goal for this brand is to scale it and turn it into a luxury brand in the future. I want to focus on sharing a story rather than focusing on the profits.

Snapchat is a social media platform just like Instagram. I create content through this platform within the biker niche. I love riding motorcycles so I figured to start making content. Currently I have 60 thousand followers and my goal is to reach 100 thousand by April 2025 and snap star by the end of this year. Making content brings out the creativity in me and time to spend with nature as I ride outdoors to film.

Extra-curricular

The Commerce Students’ Society is an organization in the University of Victoria that organize and market events that are beneficial to UVic students. My job within this organization is the brand ambassador. I actively engage with fellow students and promote the organization’s events. I utilize my soft skills to create informative content in person or through social media. With that being said, it would significantly increase the awareness of the commerce students’ society on campus.
